Dodge built the Challenger SRT Demon to rip off insane quarter-mile times thanks to a tuned up version of the popular Hellcat Hemi. Factory rated at 808 horsepower in stock form or 840 horses with the $1 Demon Crate and running on race fuel, Demons have even been dyno-tested at more like 870 hp without modification.

Radford Racing School in Chandler, Arizona, uses the highest-spec Challenger to teach drag strip classes where students can even earn their NHRA 9 Second license. But the purpose-built nature of the Demon means softer suspension to help transfer weight to the rear wheels during hard launches, which could also translate to a smooth ride on city streets.

After getting his 9 Second License, HotCars contributor Michael Van Runkle takes a Demon out for a drive in Phoenix to test whether the world's most hardcore production drag car can actually serve as a good daily driver.
