We are going to go in depth from start to finish on different PLC programming methods of sequence machine steps in Allen Bradley PLCs with tips for both beginners and automation professionals. In the last two livestreams we have discussed ladder logic machine sequencing in Studio 5000, formerly RsLogix 5000, for the Controllogix and Compactlogix PLC, and RsLogix 500 step sequencing for the Micrologix and SLC 500 PLC. In this one we will use Rockwell Automation's Connected Components Workbench with an Allen Bradley Micro820 PLC for these PLC sequence programming examples .

Among the methods we will cover will be using counters to sequence machines, multiple counter sequencer variation, Add and ONS sequence tracking, Seal In logic to do machine steps, Latch Unlatch bit tracking, MOV binary sequence tracking, multiply to shift bits variation, and bit shift left machine tracking. The one method you will not discuss is the SQI/SQO sequencer method. As we discussed in the Studio 5000 first program livestream, it isn't one of the best methods of sequencing machines because it is very brand specific. All of these methods will work across most brands of programmable logic controllers.
