বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামীর কেন্দ্রীয় মজলিসে শূরার সদস্য, পাবনা জেলা কর্মপরিষদ সদস্য ও জেলা ওলামা বিভাগের সেক্রেটারি, পাবনা ইসলামিয়া মাদ্রাসার সহকারী অধ্যাপক, মাওলানা আবদুস শাকুর বিদ্যুৎ স্পৃষ্ট হয়ে ২৮ এপ্রিল এপ্রিল বেলা সোয়া ২টায় ৪৮ বছর বয়সে ইন্তিকাল করেন (ইন্না লিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিঊন)।

২৮ এপ্রিল সন্ধ্যা ৭টায় দারুল আমান ট্রাস্ট মাঠে জানাযা শেষে তাঁকে পাবনা আরিফপুর কবরস্থানে দাফন করা হয়। তাঁর ইন্তিকালে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করেন বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামীর আমীর ডা. শফিকুর রহমান।

The oldest and largest Islamic political party of Bangladesh, Jamaat-e-Islami started working with a pledge to safeguard the independence, territorial sovereignty and Islamic values of Bangladesh which emerged as an independent state in 1971 through a great war of liberation.
