Just a few months ago, we were all set to compare Fuse 1 and the Lisa X when Formlabs surprised us with an upgraded version - the Fuse 1+. This new system packs a much more powerful punch, boasting a 30W laser compared to the original 10W .

But if you're looking for something a bit smaller and less expensive, take a look at the Lisa Pro - Lisa X's little brother. It’s basically a slow Lisa X – to find out how these two stack up against one another, mention it in the comments below.Honestly, the Lisa X and Fuse 1+ are very similar. Similar build volume, similar size, similar price… it really comes down to a few factors- Materials you can print- Cost of materials, support, and parts- User experience- Overall Cost

The Lisa X wins outright on materials – Sinterit has 10 in-house materials, and at the time of this writing, 3x third-party materials, vs. the Fuse 1’s four materials. These include flexible materials, PA12’s, PA11’s, Polypropylene, and a few others. The Fuse 1+ does shine, though, in the area of user experience – and that’s what formlabs is known for – beautiful graphical interfaces, sleek industrial design, and easy-as-1-2-3 systems. Just like a Mac vs a PC, this means the experience is more straightforward and consistent, but you’re extremely limited on customization.

Let’s get onto some technical details:
Build Volumes
Lisa X has a maximum print volume of 130x180x340 mm or 5.1 x 7.1 x 13.3, and the Fuse 1 is 165 x 165 x 300mm, or 6.5 x 6.5 x 11.8
The Lisa X is more of a vertical rectangle, the Fuse is a smaller cube… Lisa X total volume is 485 cubic inches, the Fuse 1+ is 498 cubic inches… they’re basically the same, but you can fit some longer objects into the Lisa X, and some wider/cylindrical objects on the Fuse 1+.

Lisa X accepts more file formats, but it’s windows-only, whereas you can bet the Fuse 1 interface is beautiful, while working on both Windows and mac. Formlabs requires service plans that cost money, Sinterit doesn’t and you get our support here at Vision Miner along with Sinterit’s team…

Sinterit software actually lets you play with all the settings – laser power, infill, perimeters, everything else – the Formlabs is much more closed in this sense, you don’t get to mess with most of the settings. Sinterit gives you over 30 settings, and if you’re printing multiple parts…. They can ALL have different settings! This makes testing VERY easy. Over 32 adjustable parameters, AND adjustable layer height…The Lisa X can actually print higher-resolution than the Fuse 1+ – down to 75 microns, compared to the Fuse 1’s 110 microns

The Sinterit Lisa X is a powder bed 3D printer that uses Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology to create high-quality, functional 3D printed parts. It is considered one of the best SLS 3D printers in the market and competes with several other leading brands such as Sintratec, Formlabs, Sharebot, Farsoon e-form, XYZ MFGpro236, Prodways Promaker P1000, 3D Systems, and EOS. The Sinterit Lisa X provides high-resolution prints, excellent surface quality, and is easy to use. It has a compact size, to easily fit in any office space, and is ideal for small and medium-sized businesses. The printer competes with other high-end models such as Sintratec kit, Sintratec S2, Sintratec S3, Fuse 1, Fuse 1+, Wematter ProX SLS 6100, 3D Systems SLS 380, Feplus3d, EOS Formiga, Nexa3D, QLS 820, Sindoh S100, Natural Robotics, Red Rock 3D, and many others. Its unique features such as high-rate powder recycling and a galvo laser system give it an edge over its competitors. Overall, the Sinterit Lisa X is a top contender in the SLS 3D printing industry and is well-suited for a variety of applications, from prototyping to production.
