Right off the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina is one of the most extreme trails in North Carolina, the Grandfather Mountain trail. It is an epic trail with amazing views every step of the way. It has ropes and ladders and outlooks and peaks aplenty. Grandfather Mountain NC is one of the best places to explore and view peak season North Carolina. It is absolutely beautiful! We were so excited to experience peak season in the Blue Ridge Parkway and from the many peaks of Grandfather Mountain. To enter Grandfather Mountain State Park it is $22 per person and it is best if you make a reservation because they do limit the number of people allowed in. You must be back at your car by 6:00pm or they will begin a search. This is an extreme hike and not for the faint of heart or those afraid of heights.
