(No voiceover, chill music)

In this video, I did sound test of the keys to make them less pingy by replacing the plate with my Monsgeek M1 Polycarbonate plate.

The stock Akko Mod007B HE has an aluminum plate and unlike the Mod007 V2 / or the Mod007s the package doesn't include an extra polycarbonate plate.

I was hesitant that it was not going to work because I contacted Akko and asked if I could use the Mod007 V2 Plate with the Mod007B HE and the customer support said no, it won't fit - but out of curiosity, I am a cat anyways, I tried it out. I love the sound of my Mod007 V2, which I was trying to achieve.

After the mod, it still sounds a tinge pingy but this time I need to lube the Akko Cream Yellow Magnetic Switches instead. I might also do a force break mod when I get the chance (and the masking tape I need).

Overall now, I like it vs when it was aluminum plate. I'm also just now searching for the best off-white keycaps to pair with this.

I'm using this keyboard with a Mac - so sadly, I do not have access to the Akko Drivers that would allow me to switch to regular mechanical switches vs the magnetic ones. I also can't change the responsiveness and I can't also use the Hall Effect and all the other new offerings of this board.

Time stamps:

00:44 Monsgeek M1W Sound Test
01:14 Akko Mod007 V2 Sound Test
01:31 Closer Look at the Mod007B HE
01:52 Opening the case, removing switches and keycaps - don't ask why I didn't do this beforehand
02:24 Quick fit check if the plate would fit
02:42 Removing the board - it's quite hard to remove the PCB cable (I think that's what it's called? I spent around 5-10 minutes removing it, I was scared to break it or pull it the wrong way)
03:27 Replacing the plates
05:41 Adding the tape included in the package
08:00 Putting back the board together
09:00 Quick test if I put the cables back correctly
11:54 Sound Test (yet again!) :)
