Carter Dougherty talked about President Obama’s nomination of Richard Cordray, former Ohio attorney general, to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). The CFPB was designed as a watchdog for consumers seeking mortgages, credit cards, and other financial products, as a result of the 2008 credit crisis. Many had expected and supported Harvard Professor Elizabeth Warren to get the nomination.
