Located on the stunning Angeles Crest highway right outside Los Angeles, Kratka Ridge was a small ski area that operated for 50 years. It’s no easy feat operating a ski resort in Southern California, yet the operators of Kratka persevered for many years. This video will break down the long history of Kratka Ridge spanning from the early 1950s all the way to its final closure in 2001.

The Lost Resorts is a weekly video series that focuses on the history of lost ski resorts in North America. New episodes release every Thursday at 5:15am MST (unless otherwise notified). Join me as we take a look at the forgotten resorts, that were once bustling lively enterprises.
