CSFI Banking Banana Skins report – the impact of Covid on banking risks

Why you should watch: What are the biggest risks facing banks in these stressful times? Contrary to a popular view, they are not those of failure and collapse, but of ability to deal with the changes forced on the industry by Covid such as working from home, handling of borrowers emerging from government support schemes and the advance of remote tech-driven banking. Many of these changes will pose a huge challenge to management – as well creating an invitation to crime, according to the CSFI’s latest Banking Banana Skins survey on banking risk. This event examines the survey’s finding with the report’s sponsors.

Moderators: David Lascelles (chairman of CSFI Trustees and author of the report), and Jane Fuller (co-director of the CSFI and co-author)

Panellists:

Bill McCall, chair of the Chartered Banker Institute

Andrew Warren, head of banking and financial services at Cognizant

Piers Williamson, chief executive, The Housing Finance Corporation

Dylan Minto, chief financial officer, Shawbrook Bank
