Before I eventually upgraded to Fanatec kit, I did everything I could to improve my performances in leagues in iRacing. I can say for definite that this little mod really did make braking easier once I got used to the feel and I found myself holding onto places, messing up less and finishing higher. It still can't stand up to a proper load cell setup but that's not the point - it costs you virtually nothing but a bit of time and can help give you more accurate braking.

Please be careful if you decide to modify your G29 pedals. I can't be held responsible if you mess things up or incur damage to your equipment, you know the risks. I highly, HIGHLY recommend binding the blocks with tape to give it better durability but don't expect it to be permanent.
