Liu is in charge of design strategy, industrial design, graphic and packaging design and investment and corporate strategy of consumer products at Xiaomi Corporation. He leads the design of handset and mobile accessories, achieving sales of 7.3 million handsets and a revenue of 12.6 billion RMB in 2012.
Liu has won many international design awards. Liu earned a Master’s degree in Industrial Design at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California, and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Design at Beijing Institute of Technology. He was the Chair and Co-founder of the Industrial Design Department at University of Science and Technology Beijing.
