- The current Education System --- Completely obsolete

- College/School are the byproduct of a time where...
* knowledge/books, babysitting, self-learning was scarce.
* Crime was common


- Internet -- Greatest level of knowledge ever created
• Consequence ...
• * Is very easy to learn
** The tools to learn are infinite. The desire to learn is what's scarce.


- Schools are good for...
• Peer socializing

- Issues with school...

* Pure learning is better through the internet than in schools.
* "One-size fits all" syllabus (there is a sequence and specific content of subjects imposed to a group of students)
* Memorization is obsolete (you can google anything)
* There is a specific linear sequence of topics. If a student miss or don't understand one topic, he/she won't have grasped the fundamentals to fully understand the next topic and will likely start just memorizing concepts.
• Many important fields aren't taught in school


THE ART OF LEARNING

- Learning (in general) --- Focus on learning the basics of all disciplines. Life is mostly about applying the basics.

- Advanced Learning into a specific field -- Only when you dominate the basics of that field & truly love it

- Learning sticks when there is a genuine curiosity towards the subject/field.


Important fields....

- Mathematics -- The Language of nature

- Science --
• The Study of Truth.
* In it resides the Ability to make falsifiable predictions (Karl Popper's Principle of Falsifiability)
* Can change the world

- Applied Science
• Technology --- Improves our lives
