Here's another video where I go out to try to fix an EV. But this time I need your help. Does anyone out there know anything about the Mia Electric? These are such a rare EV. There's only 13 of these on the road in the UK.
The owner left the vehicle parked up in the garage and it seems both the 12V battery and HV battery went flat. They contacted me as they couldn't get it to charge, even after trying to use a jump pack on the 12V battery. When I got there, I found the 12V battery was only measuring 5V, so I connected up a fully charged battery, hoping that would wake it up and get it charging, but no luck. After noticing the charge cable lock actuator was moving twice and not actually locking the cable, I thought this might be interrupting the charging initialisation routine, so went about fixing that. This was simply a nut & bolt connecting the actuator to the locking lever which had come undone and was easily fixed. However, while the cable now correctly locks in place, the charging still does not start.
Can anyone shed any light on this and how this could be solved? I have no workshop manual or any documentation on the Mia. Please contact me on [email protected]
