In August 2019, the Govt. of Odisha started the ‘Drink from Tap Mission’ initiated by the Water Corporation of Odisha (WATCO) and aimed to achieve universal coverage of Piped Drinking Water Supply in urban areas.
Initially, Pilot projects were successfully implemented at selected locations in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area and Puri town. Pilot zones were established and CM inaugurated the scheme after completing these eight pilot zones. Puri became the first city to achieve the target.
After successful implementation in Puri, the mission was introduced in Bhubaneshwar. The video analyzes how the mission works on the ground and can Puri and Bhubneshwar be used as a model to implement such schemes across other cities in India?
