You don’t need all of the fanciest gear and outboard processing to get good drum sounds! Phil Bledsoe walks through his approach to mixing drums with the tools you have, and introduces some new ideas you can implement into your mixes.

Key Points:
-Remember, no drum mix is complete until it’s in context of the rest of the band. The drums have a relationship with the rest of the band too!
-Try Phil’s 6/3 rule: 63Hz and 6.3KHz!
-Don’t be afraid to take a setting to it’s extremes, it’s helpful to know what something is doing!
-Save time by copying settings from similar sized drums and mics, and pasting them to the next. It might not work perfectly, but it’s saved you a few steps!
