Elon Musk just announced a release date for the Cybertruck!

Back when the Cybertruck was first announced in 2019, it was slated for a 2020 or 2021 release date. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production for the Cybertruck could not start in time, so it was delayed to an indefinite date. Eventually, 2021 came, and there was no Cybertruck, however, Elon Musk announced that the truck would be released in early-2022. Now, we’re right in the middle of 2022, and there’s still no Cybertruck.

You see, the Cybertruck is unlike any other car Tesla has ever made. Making a few prototypes isn’t a problem, but Tesla has promised all sorts of unique features like near-indestructibility, high speed, vault-like storage and adaptive air suspension. Tesla is going to have to deliver on these promises to avoid legal trouble, and it would be extremely difficult to do that on such a massive scale. When the Cybertrucks go into full production, Tesla will have to make tens of thousands of these every year. That’s a massive job.

Despite that, Elon Musk announced in April of 2022 that the Cybertrucks will be released by early-2023. Now, this is no different from all of the other “release dates”, so don’t get your hopes up too much if you’ve already placed an order. However, this time, it seems like it’s finally happening.
