This is my first project on my new laser cutter, and I make a set of important tools for future projects: magnetic clamps! These clamps will hold my materials in place, reduce warping of the materials, and even elevate the materials to reduce laser bounce back from the honeycomb bed.
This is a very easy design project, and a good place to start if you are just learning. I use Adobe Illustrator, but the same techniques can be done in Inkscape, which is free.
I show my iterative design process as I create my prototypes, test them, and make changes to fix the problems I experience.
