We check out and repair a Husqvarna ST227 snowblower that will not run off of choke or surges when the choke is taken off or put to the run position.

This is the NEW STYLE engine on this machine

The customer says he has only used it one time since it was purchased but has been sitting in the garage ever since.

If you have not used your snowblower in a while your gas may have gone bad (pump fuel goes bad within 30-60 days many times)

Your carburetor could also be gummed up or varnished from the fuel

The customer was using 87 octane regular pump blended fuel...

This is his story.

This is a Husqvarna 598610601 R525S engine which Husqvarna shows being the same manual and parts lists for the 598610602 & 598610603

We go over how to drain the fuel tank of bad fuel and flush it out with or without removing the carburetor

We show how to replace the fuel line and how to fix the snow blower without removing the carburetor and if it still will not run we show the full process of diagnosing and repairing it whatever may be the issue

On this Husqvarna snowblower the fuel tank has to be removed to clean or replace fuel line so we show how to remove and replace it.

We also clean the tank and fuel filter to clear debris while we have it off. This could cause a similar issue if there is not good fuel flow to the carburetor because the snow blower would starve for fuel

They claim 254cc engine and the manual claims it has a 252cc engine - I am sure it is private labeled like most of the MTD stuff but I am not sure who makes it currently.

The setup is like every other Chinese made engine out there.

We mention valves sticking in this video, if you thing this may be the case on yours see our video at    • Snow Blower Won't Start - Pops Or Bac...
