Porcupine VS Leopard

The leopard in this video is experienced, because he knows how painful it will be if he goes full speed to try and kill a porcupine, hence, he barely brushes against the porcupine's quills. This isn't going to hurt the big cat, but it's surely not going to hurt the porcupine. I guess the leopard has had enough of fiddling around with no result, so he decides to stop and think of what else he can do with his day. Porcupines, despite their spiky defenses, are preyed upon by a variety of predators, including leopards. It doesn't mean that killing a porcupine is always simple for big cats, but it does happen.

However, in this video, the leopard follows the porcupine, but only goes through the motion of striking his prey, afraid he will get stuck with tons of quills in his body. Leopards are often seen with quills on their bodies after an altercation with porcupines and you can see what it looks like in this video. The problem for the leopards, is once the quills are stuck and not removed, the big cats can become infected and cause a lot of problems. Unfortunately for this leopard, he lost and had to lick his wounds after the fight.

Lions VS Leopard

A lioness chased the leopard under a large bush before enlisting the help of the others to flush it out. Finally, the male lion arrived for the kill, causing a massive commotion beneath the bush that resulted in the lions chasing each other across the plains and the leopard fleeing. The lions cornered the leopard once more, and this clip begins there. A leopard's best defense is to lie on its back with its claws extended and teeth bared, which is exactly what is happening here. At the end of this video, the leopard is still alive, but he's pretending to be dead in the hopes that the lions lose interest, which they do. A male leopard in Masai mara was caught by a lion pride in their territory and almost paid the price with his life.

Unfortunately, the leopard suffered serious injuries and may not survive long after this attack. An injured Leopard rarely survives because of their solitary life. They depend on themselves to hunt so it becomes very difficult to hunt when one is injured. Luckily, leopards are built for climbing trees quickly and lions are no match compared to them in that department, or this leopard could have easily been killed by this lion after he ambushed the big cat. The lion tried to climb the tree, but stopped halfway, and realized he was not going to make it all the way to the top. This lion pride has trapped a leopard, and they are letting him have it. They are mostly subadults, but it’s still a handful for the poor leopard. We’re talking about 12 lions pouncing on one smaller cat. It looks like the lions went too far and killed the leopard.
