Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park is one of the most unique places on earth. It's home to the endangered mountain gorillas, which were nearly poached to extinction until a monumental conservation effort has helped bring the species back from the brink. Rwanda is also home to Karisimbi, the tallest volcano in Rwanda. As the volcano rises into the sky, the vegetation takes on otherworldly qualities. The ecosystem here is unlike anywhere else I've ever hiked.

This hiking film documents my hike to the top of Karisimbi with a local guide, and my gorilla tracking hike to find the elusive mountain gorillas. This is made in the style of @kraigadams and @HarmenHoek , two hiking YouTubers that specialize in silent hiking films.
