For this style analysis, I will be covering the most well-known character of Skins: Effy Stonem, following her mental state and collectic personal style from childhood into adulthood. Though each Skins character is specifically styled to be distinctly identifiable, Effy’s look is the most recognizable and associated with the series because she is the embodiment of the rebellion, beauty, and mystery that the franchise holds.

There is a lot beneath the surface of her image, so I'll also be breaking down the application of the Stoic trope and use of the Femme Fatale archetype in modern media. Through this, we can look past the glamorization of Effy to see the depth to her character that is masked by her captivating image and “to hell with it all” attitude, which gives her the illusion of a carefree seductive girl that only a few can truly piece together.
