The Turbo hybrid era of Formula 1 is dominated by the German car maker, Mercedes, and Sir Lewis Hamilton till the last season. This dominancy pushes the sport to a level where the outcomes are easily predictable and none of the rival teams were capable of challenging the Brackley-based squad over eight seasons. Finally Red Bull appears as the hero to end the dictatorship of the German automobile maker last season, winning the Drivers’ title after a tight battle throughout the season. But they were able to clinch the constructors’ title for the 8th time in a row, rewriting history books as the most successful constructor. Even though Mercedes are successful in building a strong power unit, they are not capable of achieving this feat without a consistent performer like Lewis Hamilton. But now he is close to 40 and will retire soon. Then Mercedes will surely need a replacement within the next couple of years.
