►Foggy headlight lenses are as dangerous as they are terrible looking. Years' worth of damage can leave you missing up to 80% of your headlight's original output, no matter how intense the bulb is. In this case, you have two options: replace the headlight housing or restore the lens.

The plastic lens is constantly bombarded with UV rays, causing it to form tiny cracks throughout the surface. On top of that, road dust and sand scratch the surface, causing a distinctive yellow haze. Thankfully, those faults are surface-deep, so with a bit of sanding and some modern compounds, a headlight restoration kit can save you hundreds of dollars compared to a replacement.
