The department store group Galeria Kaufhof Karstadt, which has gotten into a serious wobble, repeatedly dominates the headlines – and again at the moment. Again some houses will have to close. In Hanau, the city is now trying to buy the building in order to be able to determine its future use itself. We show how this is supposed to work and what measures the city is still taking to save the center.
