Back in 1998, the Goodwood Revival started for the very first time. The event took place exactly 50 years after the Goodwood Motor Circuit openend for the first time back in 1948.

While there were many incredible races at that first festival of historic motorsport, the first ever Sussex Trophy was hard to beat as the pick of the weekend's action.

This race truly had it all, overtakes for the lead, fightbacks from seemingly impossible positions, controversy and black flags. Two decades later we got the key players to sit down, relive that race, and talk us through exactly what went on on that fateful day.
