In our recent quest to outrun the bath weather by heading south, we've stumbled upon one of the most breath taking parks, just under 4 hours from Nashville, in southern Illinois... Garden of the Gods.

This isn't a generic wish-it-was-something-else type of park, as we've heard others elude to when comparing it to Garden of the Gods in Colorado.

The park is nestled within the Shawnee National forest and has some of the most bizarre formations that were 300 million years in the making.

We'd recommend a visit from anyone within range, regardless of the weather, or the time of year.
