Sometimes when rotten stuff happens I'm quick to question the existence of God. But I'm often brought back to thinking about this clip from the M. Night Shylaman movie, Signs, in which Graham(Mel Gibson), a non-practicing minister who refuses to believe in God after his wife is killed, discusses the way two kind of people believe in what happens. My favourite part is when his brother, Merrill (Joaquim Phoenix), sees it as a miracle when a piece of gum saves him from someone vomiting in his mouth.
