Description:

If we were to list the reasons why we love “Descendants” and “Descendants 2” we would be here for a while. Not only do the movies continue to show us a fresh take on a revenge narrative, but it teaches us a valuable lesson about inclusion and absolving a generation of their predecessor’s mistakes that is at its core, political. Not everything is perfect though. As Alexander Pope’s saying goes: “To err is human” and, once examined closely, it is clear that the people behind the movie are exactly that: human. That is why we are uncovering the 10 Inconsistencies Between “Descendants 2” and the First Movie You Never Noticed.

The magic wand is one consistent aspect of both movies yet the methods used to retrieve it are completely different! Similarly, though Mal seems pretty loyal to her villain friends and consistently shows compassion for royal her boyfriend, Ben, she has a much darker past that she is somehow unwilling to reconcile.

It’s hard to deny that the success of “Descendants 2” and the first movie rely on their Disney characters. However, some, like Audrey, daughter of Aurora, cease to exist in the sequel. On the other hand, Dizzy appears to complete a task that Mal has proven to be perfectly able to accomplish on her own.

Whether we are exploring the surprising temporality of spells or the inconsistent use of magic, there are some discrepancies that are impossible to unsee. Just wait until we reveal why Dove Cameron, the star of the movies, is the number one inconsistency! Don’t forget to comment if you disagree with one of our observations or have one to add!
