We pitted the new 2023 Civic Type R against a 2021 Civic Type R. On paper the FK8 is similar to the new FL5, but how do they drive? What are the real-world differences?

We spent some time in both and performed a back-to-back comparison to see if it's worth paying a premium for the 2023 and how these two hot hatches stack up in real life.

Thanks to David and Counterspace Garage for lending us his stock 2021 FK8. It had 18" TWS wheels and all season tires, but otherwise stock.
