In winter we have such winds that roofs fly off. We got off easy, only the hatch was exposed, or whatever it’s called, well, through which you can climb into the attic. They barely found a craftsman, they don’t want to deal with small things, give me the whole roof. A wooden garden arch also fell. This was quickly fixed, but half of the neighbor’s roof was blown off.
This year, only the mosquito net from one window flew off. We usually take them off for the winter season, but we forgot about this one. All plastic fasteners become brittle and break over time.
And now it’s already warm up to 24 degrees, even hot during the day. The flies woke up immediately, if you didn’t open the window, they would fly in.
The grid is simply necessary. I'll do it myself. In the store, the net costs 200 rubles. per meter, with a width of 140 cm. I took 60 cm, gave 120 rubles.
You will also need small magnets. I have 10 pieces with a diameter of 10 mm and a height of 3 mm. One such magnet can hold a weight of up to 2 kg. Despite their small size, they have great strength, I could barely get them apart. I bought it on the marketplace for some crafts, so they came in handy.
These magnets will hold the grid.
1) First you need to cut the mesh to the required size, so as not to make a mistake, it is better to attach it to the frame and mark on the spot how much needs to be cut.
2) Then I wiped the window.
3) I glued each magnet with double-sided tape, which you can’t tear off with your teeth.
4) Glued them symmetrically to the frame.
I will use buttons instead of metal fasteners.
5) Buttons on a long stem; I cut off the excess with pliers. I attached the first button to the corner of the mesh to securely hold it on the back side.
6) Melted hot glue.
7) Now the most difficult part - each button must be attached exactly under the magnet.
8) I did everything on the window. I attached the first corner button to the magnet, and then I aligned the grid and marked the next place for the button. So, one by one, I attached the buttons exactly in the right place.
When you lean the mesh against the window, the button is instantly attracted to the magnet, and you even hear a click.
Now you can open the window and not be afraid of the arrival of insects.
If desired, the mesh can be easily removed and washed from dust.
All the best!
