Amazon's new mesh network called Sidewalk is scheduled to be launched in early June 2021 for Echo smart speakers and Ring video doorbells. These devices are then able to share their internet connection. Given the company's history regarding privacy, fears about surveillance quickly popped up online. I wanted to have a look at how Amazon Sidewalk works and if the privacy fears are justified.
