Our special guest this week, Mr. Jon Teller, Partner & Senior Trial Attorney at Wilshire Law Firm, will present on:

Mediation - Strategies from Plaintiff's counsel perspective in preparation for trial, and post trial

The presentation will focus on Plaintiff's strategies on handling mediation when a trial is approaching and mediation following a trial verdict. What strategies work and what do not work. When it's smart to settle at mediation and when it's smart to decline the top offer at mediation.

Jon C. Teller, Esq., is a partner and an award-winning senior trial attorney at Wilshire Law Firm. Going toe-to-toe with some of the largest insurance companies in the world, such as Allstate, Geico, Progressive, AAA, and State Farm, Jon has a proven track record of obtaining righteous verdicts of millions of dollars for his deserving clients. Jon’s hard-working demeanor has helped his clients obtain 20 of the Top 50 Personal Injury Settlements in California in 2020, making up 40% of the list by TopVerdict.com.

Jon’s determination to fight for individuals against huge insurance corporations led to his nomination for Attorney of the Year by Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) in 2020. In 2021, the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) nominated Jon as Trial Lawyer of the Year.

Insurance companies with deep pockets often hire “experts” to confuse and trick the jury, attempting to give victims of tragic incidents significantly less money than they deserve. As a result, many injured parties are left with little to no money for the medical expenses they face. Jon stands up for the little guy, fighting vigorously for the rights of his clients while pursuing the justice and financial compensation they deserve.

As a former defense attorney, Jon knows how his opponents and insurance companies operate and uses this experience to out-strategize them, obtaining incredible results for his clients. His strategic, client-first approach centers on out-preparing, out-thinking, and out-working his opponents.

Jon’s work has led to world-changing results, producing over $80,000,000 for his deserving clients. In 2019, after winning the liability phase of the trial that found the defendant School District 100% negligent, the case resolved for a landmark recovery of more than $28,000,000. The result also required the School District to make changes to their policies to ensure the safety of other students to prevent injuries in the future.

Other recent cases have led to results of $4,500,000, $3,650,000, $3,550,000, $2,350,000, $2,265,000, $2,025,000 and $1,625,000 for Jon and his deserving clients. Jon has also appeared at multiple week-long Arbitrations against Uber and LYFT insurance companies which resulted in damage awards of over $1,000,000 each.

Jon has been recognized as an outstanding advocate for his clients year after year by the legal community. Jon has been named a 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 SuperLawyers Rising Star and as “Best Lawyers Ones to Watch” in 2021 and 2022.
