Great Variety at Carlisle! 43s, 47, 56, 57, 66, 68, 70, 88, Tampers 26 March 24

I went thinking it would be just another day but the variety really surprised me.

I was a 8 half hour stint at Carlisle Citadel Station but I wasn't disappointed!

The Engineer's trains all had loads,

Two tampers ran into the station and headed south. No idea what the one from Wigan was doing other than route familiarisation as its run a few times in recent weeks.

The intermodals were fully loaded (even the one from Hams Hall which hid itself from me in Platform 1).

There were several power moves plus the driver / route learning run with the Freightliner 47. I think Colas 70815 was a failure and was being hauled south for maintenance.

The Class 43-powered Network Rail test train had arrived before I did and left later that evening.

And finally four nuclear flasks heading from Hunterston to Sellafield.
