Lord David Wolfson, Baron Wolfson of Tredegar, uses a speech in the British House of Lords to explain why Israel is always singled out internationally, nationally in the UK, in culture, in civil society and across all industries.

The speech was part of a debate on the Economic Activity of Public Bodies (Overseas Matters) Bill which is a bill to make provision to prevent public bodies from being influenced by political or moral disapproval of foreign states when taking certain economic decisions, subject to certain exceptions; and for connected purposes.

The main example of the bill focuses on Israel as local councillors in the UK are attempting to boycott Israel leading to the fear that there will be multiple British foreign policies in conflict with the official Government foreign policy.

These local councils are influenced by the anti-Israel BDS movement. This Bill aims to ensure that only the British Government can decide British policy towards Israel.
