The Reading & Northern Railroad is one of the most exciting regional railroads in North America. Located in the scenic mountains of eastern Pennsylvania, the RBM&N operates across a 400 mile rail system.

See the Reading & Northern's flagship train, the “NRFF,” their fast freight that runs from North Reading to Pittston and even runs on a set schedule! You’ll see R&N locals such as the Mountain Job, Hazleton local, Pottsville local to the Yuengling Brewery, Pittston local with the SW-8 “Pups” and switching at the Penobscot and Port Clinton yards. Both steam, diesel, and even BUDD cars are featured on the RBM&N’s passenger trains as well as the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway.

See RBM&N 425, a 4-6-2 Pacific that operates on both the Lehigh Gorge trains and also day long excursions out of North Reading. Also see the Reading & Northern’s beautiful F Units on an Office Car Special with vintage passenger equipment.

The RBM&N diesel roster consists of: SW-8, SW-8m, SW-1500, MP15, GP38-2, GP39RN, SD38, SD40-2, SD50, SD50-2, F-7b, F-9a, RDC-3, RDC-1.
