The 2.7 L 4 cylinder turbo seems to be a great base engine for light to medium work. It has more power than the v6 and is quicker. 21-22 mpg city. I use 87 octane gasoline. It has a great turbo whine that can be heard over the engine and is noticeable to other drivers. Feel free to time it yourselves. From 0-60, It's a solid mid six second truck in a two wheel drive model. Get the 5.3L, 6.2L or Diesel if you tow heavy loads. Yes, Ford guys, the Ford 2.7 v6 twin turbo is faster but that's not a base engine. Thanks for watching, and God bless.
