Samuel Langhorne Clemens widely known by Mark Twain (his pen name), also known by his other pen names such as Josh and Thomas Jefferson Snodgrass, was born on November 30, 1835, in Florida, Missouri after an appearance of Halley's Comet. He was an American humorist, writer, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer. In his early life, Mark served an apprenticeship with a printer and then worked as a typesetter contributing articles and humorous sketches to the Hannibal Journal, a newspaper owned by his brother. After a while working for Hannibal's journal, he left for a job as a printer in New York City. He educated himself in public libraries in the evenings, transforming himself beyond the conventional school graduates. Some of Mark’s works are The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (novel), A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court (novel), Pudd’nhead Wilson (novel), and many other essays & articles.
