Video tour of the Disney Dream’s Roy O. Disney Suite (stateroom 12502) as well as pictures and videos of our time renting it. A Double Dipper cruise turned into a double sea day to avoid Hurricane Ian. We watched every video we could find of this amazing stateroom prior to sailing and wanted to give back to the YouTube community with even more footage.

Some take aways from our stay…

Don’t book this stateroom if it’s your first DCL cruise. This was our 5th Disney Cruise so we knew how to maximize every single benefit that came with this room.

The Royal suite completely changes the vibe of the cruise. The room is an event in it of itself and made the cruise feel very private compared to our previous ones. Almost like the only people on the ship was us and the other concierge guests.

If you’re traveling with family and a lot of kids, it’s definitely worth getting if you can swing it. It was the perfect place for everyone to gather and relax away from the crowds.

We used every amenity in the room multiple times, even the amenities we didn’t think we would use. We used the refrigerator, coffee machine, hot tub, jacuzzi, steam shower and of course the deck. We rinsed bottles in the sink, even the TV in the master bedroom got used. It was truly a home away from home.

The stateroom between the two Royal Suites (stateroom 12000) has an adjoining door and is reserved for Royal suite guests to book if they need extra room.

The included free Wi-Fi was great. We didn’t let our kids use it so my wife and I could have connected up to five of our devices if we wanted to (and we did). You get one free WiFi connection per person staying in the room. We honestly didn’t use it much, but it was nice to be able to Google something without having to worry about what that would cost.

Download the marine tracker application if you can. Because of the forward-facing balcony, I found myself using it a lot to see what was out there, where we we’re located, and where we had come from. It was really cool to sit out on the deck and know exactly where we were and where we were going. I felt like the captain of the ship :P

We did the pillow menu, but we didn’t really like any of the pillows. Our hostess brought one of each, and we picked the most comfortable of them all but none of them were really comfortable for us. The bed is amazing though.

There are not very many American outlets in the suite but if you ask the concierge, they will bring adapters and surge protectors for you to use.

If you’ve never sailed in a concierge room before, be prepared to tip the concierge team. They really earn it so make sure the budget for that. Disney recommends tipping them eight dollars, per person in your room, per day as a good tip but that doesn’t seem like enough for how good of a job they do. Personally, I would tip at least twice that, if not three or four times that amount. The concierge team has also gotten much bigger so the tip could be split by up to nine team members. Plan to be generous.

The public deck is right above you, so if you go out on your deck, don’t be surprised if you look up and see people looking back down at you. It really wasn’t a big deal as you would have to walk all the way to the railing for anyone to see you, but just keep that in mind in case you’re planning to walk outside in your birthday suit lol

Everything in the suite is real. Even the books are real! Nothing in the room is made out of particleboard or cheap materials. Everything is ultra luxury, ultra high-end and very real. When you look around the ship parts of it can feel fake like you're on a movie set. Probably because if they used real materials the ship would be to heavy or to expensive to maintain. But the Royal Suite is the exception. Everything in it is the real deal. Real wood, real stone, plush carpet and those cameras on the shelf... they're real too!

Final thoughts…

I am not a professional YouTuber, so I’m sure some people might look at this video and say there’s things missing. This video was thrown together to share as much of the experience with you and anyone else who might be thinking about booking this suite. We watched every video on this room multiple times, and I will tell you that the room is much more impressive in person than online. I also shared pictures and video of us using the suite to help you get a sense of scale and feeling for the suite (I put all that at the end).

You will notice one of the eight chairs is missing from the living room. When we brought our little one back from the small world nursery, the bottle fell over on one of the chairs staining it, so they took it out of the room to have it cleaned. You may also notice that one of the light fixtures by the front door wasn’t working. It had just stopped working when I recorded that video and when I eventually told the Concierge they had someone come and fix it within 15 minutes. Again the concierge team is amazing, tip generously.

Enjoy the video!
