In 2018 Game Freak and the Pokemon franchise took us back to the iconic Kanto region for the third time with Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee.

These Pokemon Yellow remakes applied Pokemon Go's gameplay and catching mechanics to the first mainline home console installment in the series. And these titles would eventually garner decent reviews and pretty good sales overall.

But are these games worthy of being called "mainline"? And do they add enough new flavor into a familiar recipe? Well let's find out as we dig into my review of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee!
