BIGGER & LONGER

Too much of a good thing is never bad, is it?
Didn’t think so.
Here is a longer, more simple cut of a previous edit we did. A few of you wanted to see more - and others probably wanted more to pick at (which is apparently what YouTube is now for). Yes this is the actual sound of the car, yes it’s sync’d, yes we took out the music.

For those who are hungry for specs on this backdate 911 masterpiece, here they are:

This 1978 Porsche 911SC coupe was modified with backdated bodywork, a turbocharged twin-plug 3.4L flat-six, and a G50 five-speed manual transaxle.

The leather-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel frames a central 10k-rpm tachometer, a rotated 150-mph speedometer, and gauges for boost pressure, oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level.

Recaro Pole Position seats that have been reupholstered in orange leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard trim, door panel inserts, and rear trim. Black wool carpets and a replacement ivory-color headliner were installed during the build, and a rear storage box was fitted in place of the factory rear seats.

The turbocharged twin-plug 3.4L flat-six was rebuilt with Mahle pistons and cylinders, a custom intercooler and camshafts, electronic fuel injection, MoTec engine management, titanium valve springs and retainers, dual front oil coolers, crossover oil lines, Billy Boat B&B heat exchangers, and a custom exhaust system. A reproduction 911R-style fuel tank and a Bosch 044 fuel pump were also installed, and at 6000rpm she dyno’s at 594BHP. Yes, 594..

Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels measure 7″ in width up front and 9″ wide out back, and are mounted with Bridgestone RE-11 tires sized 205/55 and 245/45 respectively. Disc brakes with full floating drilled front rotors and 930 Turbo calipers bring it to a halt right quick, and suspension modifications include Bilstein shocks, Elephant Racing torsion bars and quick-change spring plates, JWE adjustable sway bars, raised front spindles, with an aluminum strut brace, and polybronze bushings.

The car received a two-stage repaint in Stone Gray after being fitted with a metal long nose hood, widened rear fender flares, front fender extensions, a sunroof delete panel, a replacement rear decklid, and backdated rear bumpers. A modified 911S-style front bumper with cutouts was also installed, along with H4 headlights, Euro-style taillights, black horn grilles, and brightwork sourced from an early 911.

It recently sold on BaT.
