This is my entry for the WLW2 contest. I wasn't going to enter but decided to try and make something last minute to try and get out of my vidding slump. The quote I used is a variation on a quote by Friedrich Nietzsche:

"When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes into you."

Basically, this edit is about the darker side of human nature and the dangers of getting too close to the darkness. The themes presented by the various couples in this vid are lust, desire, obsession, power, control, corruption of innocence and the descent into madness.

I watched the film "Promising Young Woman" and the instrumental version of Britney Spears's Toxic used in the film really stuck in my head. I knew I wanted to try and make a vid using the song so I created a mashup with the version from the film as well as 2WEI's instrumental cover to hopefully create something that is dark and haunting.
