How about this camera? I went into this thinking this would be a poorer cousin of the Pentacon Six, but it's not that at all.

I actually started this video intending to do a vid about the Pentacon Six TL, of which I have two copies. But both my P6s are a little dodgy... both have shutter speeds that are a little sluggish. So I ran through some basic tests with the Kiev 60 which I've had a for a year or so and never had a moment to put more than a test roll through. And it's in great condition, purring like a kitten!

So, time to put it through its paces properly. I started with a roll of Portra 400, which I totally forgot I had in there, but fortunately I guessed right and exposed the roll at the right speed.

I then had some screw in filters that would fit the Carl Zeiss Biotar 80mm f2.8 lens, so I went BW next, with a roll of Kentmere 400.

I then put in a roll of Bergger Pancro 400, but as you'll see, that ended in disaster... I think my fixer was coming to the end of its life, and as we know, Bergger Pancro needs a heavy hand with the fixer.

Then a roll of Kodak Tri-X 400, and some self portraits out in the 'studio' to finish up. Some issues with these, but I quite like the unintended effects that resulted. What do you think of them?

Check out the history of the Kiev 60 and Kiev 6C in the links below, and also make sure you had over to the Arax website, a company in Ukraine which, I hope, are still going and offer upgrades and repairs to Kiev 60 cameras.
