In the latest BISness podcast, Basel Committee Chair Pablo Hernández de Cos and Secretary General Neil Esho discuss the Committee’s work – past, present and future with Alan Soughley.

Mr Hernández De Cos, who also heads the Banco de España, highlights the importance of global cooperation in fostering financial stability as a public good and the role of the Basel Committee in promoting international cooperation regarding banking standards.

Mr Esho talks about the challenges facing supervisors amid the changing technological and banking landscapes. He also stresses the need for supervisors to trust their judgment and take the risk of intervening, as well as the importance of never being complacent.
