Laila Taik is an English teacher from Morocco. Here she talks about her experience a teaching Arabic at an all girls high school in Brooklyn, NY.

She started teaching in 2004. She has taught 9th, 10th , 11th, and 12th grades. Actually. She is a school activities and clubs coordinator and trainer working basically on sustainable development goals both with her students and in collaboration with my colleagues globally.She is a keynote speaker and moderator of international webinars debating matters of environment, education, women empowerment and sustainability.

Laila uses project-based learning. She is an iEARN.org project coordinator and facilitator of a global collaborative project called ''MY IDENTITY, YOUR IDENTITY'' This where she was introduced to PBL approach of teaching. She decided to create her own education interactive global project based on global citizenship and cross-cultural understanding: "CULTURE EXCHANGE/PENPALS” She engaged her students for years in collaborative project globally via exchanging penpal letters, holiday cards, culture box She moved to something more innovative in her project CULTURE EXCHANGE. Liala created a student Facebook closed group and later many educators joined from different parts of the world. She also created a Flipgrid account for her students that they will be joining little by little for the purpose of voicing Moroccan identity and sharing as global citizens using this amazing Microsoft technology!

And as a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, Laila implemented new technologies in collaborative projects like exchanging cultures using videos, emails and digital platform online video conference, connecting classrooms.
