Israel has launched a series of strikes against Iran. Anti-aircraft fire was spotted in the skies above Isfahan, a province just south of Tehran. There are several large military bases in the region, including missile production and nuclear facilities. US officials confirmed a missile strike, but the Israeli government has yet to comment. There are no reports of any damage or casualties, and Iranian officials have said there are no plans for an immediate retaliation. Iran also claims to have intercepted three drones, but denied a missile had struck inside the country. Israel’s attack against Iran is itself a retaliation, following an Iranian drone and missile attack on Saturday. Some 300 drones and missiles were fired towards Israel by Iran, but nearly all of them were intercepted. Tehran has been expecting an Israeli response ever since, but this morning’s attack was comparatively muted. Iran has downplayed the strike, and the UN atomic watchdog has said there was no damage to Iranian nuclear sites.
