Jeremy Strong is best known to viewers as the son of an overbearing father in Succession. In Armageddon Time, a coming of age story based on director James Gray's own childhood, the roles are reversed. Strong plays father to a fictionalized Gray in his youth. He told me that, while the character didn't exactly match his own parenting style, there is an inescapable and perpetual sense to do better as a parent that resonated with him.
