Keeping things cold while off the grid can become challenging when managing ice in coolers. After many years of dealing with this issue, I finally took the plunge and invested in a fridge and power station. This video takes a high level look at the Jackery Explorer 1500 power station and the ARB Elements fridge but most importantly I answer a basic question "How long will the Jackery 1500 run the ARB Elements fridge?"
*Data Update* I recently went on a 3 day trip and had the ARB fridge in the cab with the Jackery 1500. The truck was in direct sunlight for the duration of the trip with ambient temp during the day of about 90 degrees. I had my windows cracked some of the time so my guess is that the interior temp fluctuated from 130 - 160 degrees. Result was the Jackery lasted about 56 hours (100% down to 17%) under those conditions (other data to consider - opened the fridge about 6 times per day and the fridge was only half full). Also the unit did turn off a couple of times which is expected due to the recommended max temp of 104 degrees. Therefor I would recommend finding a more suitable area for the unit than in the cab of a hot vehicle.
