Six billion pounds of fresh produce is left to rot in the fields every year. Some farmers estimate that fewer than half the produce grown actually leave the farm. Modest intervention, could provide huge returns in not only agricultural production and nutrition, but in industries such as energy and water.

Welcome to a brand new day.

FM2U = Greater access to Farm-to-Table produce. Our integrated platform is a process for supply chain that creates more value through the power of markets.

We are modern-day Nehemiahs of Team FM2U building a supply chain system with technology for provides marketing and logistics to move fresh produce from farm to table.

What it does / Progress (Execution Accessible Inclusive in who it benefits)

Our platform provides solutions:
For Farmers
Farmers are now able to indicate they expected harvest schedule that become inventory in the supply chain for those who want to access fresh farm-to-table produce, namely B2B, like with the sous chef of Chicon restaurant in East Austin and other high-end individual home and office markets that our logistics is limited to. FM2U has a green (revenue and sustainability) scorecard for how much waste captured that now goes to revenue.
For B2C and other high-end markets: An Ability to order on an automated regular or irregular schedule from an easily searchable database of local fresh produce.
For Community
Decreased food, water, and energy waste from produce recaptured for profit
Greater resource utilization, community collaboration, and health from nutritional consumption.
How we built it
We used the following to develop and successfully test our project: firebase, HTML5, CSS3, javascript, gitHub, ionic, and Slack.
What's next for FM2U
We intend to leverage key stakeholders on the FM2U Project: Patrick Bellenoit, (Sous Chef at Chicon restaurant), producers from Austin Farmers Market, other local farmers, and urban gardeners.
Our next natural step, engaging key working partners, is consequential to begin leveraging Farm2U in targeted markets using our application as a project to drive defined objectives of all stakeholders.
We intend to build on our project objectives to: Show a scorecard of food recaptured for revenue in time for National Ag Day 3.20.2018.
What we learned
We learned from research how powerfully our app, FM2U, will make a big impact on the overall economy, reducing food, energy, and water waste, and how the innovations from our minimum viable product will disrupt the way markets are used for social change.
