都山流本曲「八千代(やちよ)」

【解説】
都山流の流祖 初代中尾都山の作曲による尺八二部合奏曲。
都山流創流20周年を記念して、大正5（1916）年2月に作曲された。
全曲を通じて明るい旋法が用いられるなど、祝儀曲としての雰囲気をもちつつ、「緩－急－緩」三部による構成を採り、本曲の厳かさを表現している。
主題を再現する構成や、随所に現れる2声部のポリフォニックな進行など、西洋音楽にも精通していた都山師の作曲技法の妙味を感じる作品である。

This is a new project by the shakuhachi(bamboo flute) ensemble "Fuga Chikuin", which will upload various works of the shakuhachi ensemble.

Tozan-ryu Honkyoku "Yachiyo (Eternity)"

This is a two-part shakuhachi ensemble piece composed by Tozan Nakao I, the founder of the Tozan-ryu school.
It was composed in February 1916 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Tozan-ryu School.
While it has the atmosphere of a celebratory piece with its bright melody throughout, it expresses the solemnity of the piece by adopting a structure of three parts: slow, rapid, and slow.
The compositional structure of the recapitulation of the theme and the polyphonic progression of the two voices that appears in many places show the virtuosity of the compositional technique of Mr. Tozan, who was also well versed in Western music.

尺八アンサンブル「風雅竹韻」
尺八演奏家 藤原道山を中心に若手演奏家と共に2016年に大阪・いずみホールで開催されたコンサートを皮切りに活動をスタート。これまでに北九州響ホール、浜離宮朝日ホールなど日本有数のホールにて一糸乱れぬアンサンブル、尺八の持つ可能性を追求する芳醇な響きを披露。2018年7月には浜離宮朝日ホールにて2年連続で収録されたライブ盤CDをリリース。
