Seabird Explorations uses nodes to find and produce oil. Node are placed at the bottom of the sea floor using a remotely operated vehicle, or "ROV" technology. They can stay there for up to three months collecting very high resolution seismic data. This allows us to see a detailed image of the reservoir and enhances the ability to find oil and gas deposits. This new technology allows us to record better data than ever before, even in a crowded oilfield setting. With this better data, we can also eliminate unnecessary wells, and reduce risk.

Node seismic provides highly detailed images of the oil field, both before and during production. This seismic image or "snapshots" taken over time, allow the Geoscientist and Engineers to determine the most accurate placement of new production or injection wells, and to optimize the recovery process; allowing for capture of by-passed oil in the field.
